after the success leonid neverminds light is here ep, we invited a few artists to reinterpret and reshape leonids work. first up is dutch duo duijn & douglas, who already released on nowar, who took on thymus stimulator and turned it into a deep and funky time bomb. very basic and strongly efficient grooves layered with riffs and counter-riffs, making you hooked instantly. a wonderful hip-shaker! on the flipside detroits kris wadsworth, with solid releases on nrk and boe recordings, applied a more machine funk approach turning feel into a deep jack workout with leonids original dreamy sounds enveloping kriss rawness. finally miles sagnia, whose releases on his own atmospheric existence and aesthetic audio prove to be timeless gems, also combined the raw and the soulful. a true deep house gem with funky basslines, straightforward beats and a sweet deep almost detroit techy vibe.

this ep is a therapeutic and soothing trip into sexy and gentle atmospherics, plenty of organic melodies and deep, very deep dancefloor funk. >the unexplored land of love< feels like the opening soundtrack to an imaginary documentary on infatuation. the kind you experience when loosing yourself on the dancefloor, exchanging glances with unknown people yet feeling united in the dance. >thymus stimulator< takes you further in a funkier realm full of sweet electronics and hip swaying basslines. instant deep groover! the flipside opens with >feel< a very simple title that tells you quite simply to feel the intensity and magic of those rare moments on the floor when unity and love is what this is all about. finally >light is here< takes the ep back to dreamy atmospherics and beautiful soundscapes, all layered on sweet melodies and gently grooving rhythms. close your eyes and feel the love on this one!

a1) aller retour. indeed we do like it very much, when a tune is like a punch – and this one pushes tremendous. underlaid with a sharp kick later, the strongly-held bass line involving from a small stream to an all-compelling stream. on top we receive a very un-christian boot with some oriental like organ-pipes. what more can you expect. oh by the way- there is actually a river in lower saxony with the same name like the track – however has nothing to do with it. b1) nevermind. indicate left and right over. and then a lob shot instead of a straight shot. this is a little what nevermind feels like. an assault from the deep, with a soft climax rather than with brute force. our recommendation for phasing out after an extensive club night

damon wild and david sumner (aka functions) relationship dates back to 1991 at lord michaels future shock, limelight, new york city when damon was running experimental records via northcott productions. at the time, he first saw something in dave and added him to brand x, a record pool run by moneypenny. but their bond is based around a period 5 years later when dave had an apartment above rogue music at 251 west 30th street in midtown, manhattan. it was during this time damon developed him as a synewave artist and released his first ep as function in the fall of 1996 catalog number, sw-24. falling in and out of touch over the years, across continents, the two have somehow remained on the same cosmic path. so its not a coincidence that now damon has turned to dave to release his first album in 13 years, during the time he is reissuing that first synewave ep on recompiled i/ii & ii/ii (a-ton lp02/03). this is where those paths cross again 21 years later, this fall, dave will release cosmic path on infrastructure. the cosmic connection.
